“It was a throwaway line for the cameras but an obvious signal to his friends and supporters. The president was nodding to his state-sanctioned media takeover.”

Another depressing day, although we all saw this coming a mile away. It started a year and a half before the election. And Trump isn’t scared about the midterms because he has no intention to lose.

Furthermore, social media has been weaponized and it’s about to get worse once the TikTok merger is complete. Not to mention, extreme gerrymandering will be approved by SCOTUS.

Additionally, Trump, DOJ, FBI and DHS have dismantled all of their anti-corruption and election integrity units, replacing them with people who were involved in the J6th insurrection and fake elector schemes.

So what could possibly go wrong? It’s a rhetorical question, no need to answer!

Mother Nature, hamberders, big purple bruise on somebody's hand, cankles, stroke, etc.

Yes, there's the little bearded wanker to deal with afterward. But one problem at a time.

In Venezuela/Caribbean ocean Trump is testing using the military for extreme use without congress interfering as his next use will be on Americans. You can see this in his recent speeches to military audiences where he talks about the enemy from within and a need to save this country. He now trys to condition military the media is corrupt and only believe me. Complete BS meant to indoctrinate the military to do the unthinkable against its citizenry at his beckon call.

Look at the terror and violence now used to round up border crossers working for americans by ice and ice has a $150Billion budget.

WAKE UP AMERICA- Shut the government and economy down now with a national strike until trump and trash are gone. The longer the delay the worse the pain.

Miles is correct. We are past the 10 alarm fire... Time for meaningful action not pontification.

“It’s an unprecedented arrangement in modern U.S. journalism to have a major broadcast network under political supervision.” This is one of the most dangerous statements I’ve heard. Right now I can thank God for independent news. But……..not everyone is willing to welcome independent news into their lives. They continue with their newspapers and the gross corporate news deceivers.

Trump's media takeover (and education takeover, military takeover, judicial takeover, etc.) is quite obvious. Unfortunately, many don't follow this news as closely as they should given what Trump is doing to the country as a whole.

While unobserved by most, the freedom of the press, one of the cornerstones of democracy, is disappearing. Independent journalism and voices like yours Miles, are increasingly important.

I'm reading Alexei Navalny's book "Patriot". In it he talks about the repression in Russia & the politization of justice. He relates story after story of political persecution of Putin critics & always saying that those of us in western democracies have not seen that. Well, he would be sorely disappointed now. There are already indictments of political enemies & an enemies list which is growing exponentially. How soon before we REALLY see Obama's name & Biden's name actually on the list. He's alluded to it already but as his power increases (Thank you, worthless Republicans!) there will be no holding him back.

~~~ I watched "House of Dynamite" over the weekend. It's on Netflix. May I suggest that you watch it & as you do think of that scenario with the flunkies & sycophants he's placed in important positions. At the end of the movie ask yourself what he would do if a major "blue" metropolitan area was facing the same situation. What would he do? I'll leave that to you, the reader, to decide.
It occurs to me that it might be a good idea for someone with a national following to organize boycotts against supporters of this administration. Off the top of my head, I'd say Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk, Home Depot, Walmart, CBS, Paramount. If we could receive frequent updates of who's next on the boycott list, how to do it, and why, the people could wield a powerful force by not only boycotting, but holding protests that we are doing it, writing letters to the companies we are boycotting, and in general trying to seek national attention. This is something we can do while there is still the ability to do it, before the ax falls. Miles? You up for it?
Between events like No Kings it seems to me that this would be a real winner. One-at-a-time (and trying each for 2-4 weeks) would add a gigantic pressure point ….. Think this could be massive and effective. Thx, Rhonda!
U.S. military officials and troops involved with the expanding operations in Latin America have been asked to sign NDAs.
Is this legal? There are restrictions on talking about operations. But the 1st amendment still aplloes.
If people refuse what are their options.
How many will resign and speak out what are their repercussions?
