This sham of a government is already crossing some of the lines that you’ve described. Is it all about money and university boards caving or they lose federal funds? Sick and wrong.

You’ve found a helpful middle ground. Regarding DEI initiatives, we have sometimes over-corrected, BUT we still need to be cognizant of biases that have created a barrier for many people. I do wonder where it will end, or what will stop this march toward thought control. If university presidents throughout the country found a way to band together in solidarity, would this be effective? Looking ahead, I worry about progressive churches being shut down because we don’t adhere to this regime’s version of “Christianity.” (Quotes intentional. I have 2 seminary degrees and can’t find anything in their rhetoric that comes close to what I learned.) We are attempting to help people who are being harmed by this regime. Our communities will suffer if we are shut down.
