I'm afraid the mental sickness of Mr. Trump has infected the National Guard and it's leadership. I would constantly remind the Guard that we are all American citizens. Major cities have always had issues, but didn't need the evocation of the Guard, especially armed members. Gentlemen and gentlewomen you took an oath to the constitution, not to the President. Please refuse to follow a power hungry crazy man and his supporters and live your obligation to the oath you took, PLEASE.

What we should do is have citizen militias round up the National Guard deployed illegally then put them on buses and send them back where they came from. Or send them to DC to arrest the Demented Orange Monster with cankles to put him in jail for overriding the Possas Comatatis(sp) in the Constitution!!!

Brilliantly put, Miles. The people are the last stand. The final opposition to a coming entrenched autocracy. The fascists are moving incredibly fast, so many people are not even aware yet. They do not realize the administrative state is being deconstructed right before their eyes. Project 2025 is being implemented. Most people don’t have a clue what Project 2025 even is, and wouldn’t believe you if you told them. The mindset amongst the average citizenry is not up to the rapidity of this coup’s actions.

Hope Americans wake up in time.

Thank goodness for the people who are aware and doing their part. I’m trying. It’s all I can do.

I fear the day when political violence occurs between citizens. National Guard troops and ICE and civilians are all citizens. He is trying to provoke us, so please everyone, stay calm, but act. Not to get all preachy, bc I know we all have our challenges, but there are things that YOU & I can do. Organize. Protest. Call your reps. Stock up on supplies. Verify your voters’ registration. Get involved in local political party. Volunteer somehow, somewhere. Read the constitution. Read it again. Spread love.

My wish: that all the universities under Trump’s ill-conceived attack on learning had banned together to fight him off, that all the law firms under his outrageous and venomous assault had united to combat his terrorist bombardment, that all the corporations he undermined and demanded they create state capitalism had gotten together to tell him NO. Unity is what we need. Across the board, everyone, every organization, corporation, every firm. Unite. Like never before.

First, to all Washingtonians; the Guardsman deployed to DC probably want to be there even less than you want them there. Please treat them with kindness and courtesy. Don't get in their faces and yell and scream at them. They are your neighbors. Reach out the hand of kindness, talk to them as you would anyone. If they are permitted, invite them home after their shift for dinner or to meet the family. When the illegal order is given to shoot you as you peacefully demonstrate, they'll be much less likely to shoot people they've come to know personally.

Second, the revolution cannot happen before the economy collapses and the MAGA voters lose their jobs, homes and savings and possibly their health care and join progressives in the streets. Otherwise it won't be a revolution; it will be civil war between MAGA and progressives.

Third, above all else keep it peaceful even after Trump panics and orders his forces to shoot demonstrators and people start dying. He can't kill us all and eventually his forces will become appalled at what they have done and turn on Trump.

Thank you Miles from a new subscriber. Today my hat is tipped to Governor Pritzker for publicly pointing out the president’s mental decline. It seems painfully obvious.
