This was a riveting read - thank you! One thing though: Trump’s tactics might in some ways be presently damaging to people who are standing up to him and his corrupt regime, but I believe history will uphold these brave, righteous Americans! And all of us who now admire and respect them will reassure them in the meanwhile …
Trump's methodology is clear: threatening those who speak or act counter to his "directives" and using fear as a tactic to silence people. As mentioned previously across social media, I've seen the effects of fear locally: fear of losing a job; losing one's business; losing friends and family members.
We the People showed our mettle on Saturday, we must keep it up via action: Speak out; write congress; make calls; protest; and boycott.
I repeat something I’ve said a few times on Miles’s postings, namely that Ed Martin, the initial but failed US Attorney for the District of Columbia and now head of Trump’s DOJ weaponization office, earlier this year said that the point is not necessarily to convict DJT’s enemies and critics, but to publicly shame them.
"The Trump administration has quietly created a new position at the IRS that does not exist in law. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Frank Bisignano, the current Social Security Commissioner, will now serve as 'CEO of the IRS.' That position has never existed. It was not created by Congress. It does not appear anywhere in federal statute.
By inventing a new title, Trump has handed control of the IRS to one of his political allies without going through the Senate confirmation process required for the IRS Commissioner. Bessent remains the “acting commissioner” while Bisignano runs the agency’s day-to-day operations.
This arrangement is an attempt to sidestep the Constitution’s requirement that the Senate confirm major executive branch appointments. It gives Trump direct control over an agency that enforces the tax laws that apply to him and his donors. The public has a right to know who authorized this, what legal authority was used, and whether any internal objections were raised by Treasury or IRS officials.
The IRS is supposed to operate independently. But this move places one of Trump’s loyalists in charge of both the IRS and the Social Security Administration, concentrating enormous power over Americans’ financial data in the hands of one unelected political figure.
The IRS Commissioner’s role was designed to protect the integrity of the tax system. By splitting duties between an acting commissioner' and a made-up 'CEO,' the Trump administration is hollowing out that independence. It replaces lawful oversight with a system of personal loyalty and political control."
First of all, the vindictive side of me (which is arguably small, compared to Trump and his cronies) hopes the tables will eventually turn and they will be charged for crimes they are committing. Or, at the very least, sent to the dung heap for the sin of incompetence.
Second, Amy McGrath is running again? Wonderful news! While Trump only has AI generated fighter planes and fictitious courage, she’s the genuine article.
You have written this with clarity of thought and word, and with such composure, given your harrowing proximity to the subject.
I was intending to ask tomorrow in your Weekly Wednesday Coffee, what we, as your friends and community, can do to help you beyond being paid subscribers.
Near the end of this piece you include the link for direct support to your legal defense fund.
Can you please talk about this tomorrow?
Much of your Treason Community may already be aware of it, but for myself, it was the first time I've seen the link for your defense fund. I've donated and intend to share the link within my own circle, but it is something that bears repeating, and I believe your community here on Substack will respond and support you and your family, wholeheartedly. ❤️

Disgusting.

Thank you very much Miles.

Good discussion, Miles; thank you.
Yes I know the difference. I can thank @Glenn Kirschner for that bit of education.
