Thank you, Miles. I am in total agreement. While I totally abhor violence of any kind, mob mentality is devoid of ability to think, our rights are falling at an alarming rate. Is this the America we want to live in? If not, we need to find thoughtful ways to fight back. Just getting the subject out in the open helps knowing I am not alone in my thoughts.

I came to the same conclusion this weekend, just a different version of All For Me None For Thee! I have seen and heard His hate speech all the way back to term 1,they / He has definitely gotten worse.Just this weekend Kilmeade saying to kill the homeless for not obeying,We are a military and civil service family, this censorship brings an indescribable ache to the pieces of our family puzzle. It shows our nation we Are Over That Cliff! America now walking on egg shells?I watched this weekend censorship in Live,Mean Humor taking place, but it was ok …for their side.Very sadly it is Us v Them. Red v Blue. This censorship is playing out just like it was layed out in the Project. Our guardrails disappeared almost in their entirety on Sept 14th.I keep reminding myself it Is 2025! We Do have a Constitution!🇺🇸although being burned at an alarming rate.I also find myself asking…Who really benefits from this killing? I have 10 grandchildren all in public school,I worry what will be taught this day about that event?I hear the words loud and clear LOOK FOR THE HELPERS.In this case it will be the LEADERS not afraid to step forward and speak the truth, such as you and others are doing . I am Irish so I’ll Fight the entire way, kickin and screaming as my grandma used to say. Thank you Miles, travel safe.

It is pretty chilling. I am also very upset how MAGA is using Kirk's death to push their agenda of hate forward. The recent prayer vigil at The Kennedy Center was full of statements of hate and division, including twisting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s words to fit their cause. I decided not to be silent and to write about it: https://mbmatthews.substack.com/p/the-great-divide?r=hcg5

MAGA wants us to go silent. But we cannot. I have had to reflect very, very hard on this. because I am so overwhelmed by it. I have decided on a personal campaign of one small act of bravery a day. They will mount up.

I also take courage from the acts of bravery I witness like Miles' own fight. Thank you for being a bastion of resistance.

Bravo. What a powerful sentiment. Don’t let the intimidation work.

Miles, you are in a unique position to comment on Donald Trump’s treatment of the 1st Amendment. What did you witness firsthand? Was there a foreseeable pattern in how he spoke about people who disagreed with him and how he would go about silencing them?

If the past is prologue, as they say, then we can expect he’ll seek to use presidential power to keep muzzling his critics. But this time there aren’t folks to tell him “no.” I strongly suspect their next move will be to go after left-leaning activist groups and ratcheting down on Democrat-tied orgs, which of course there is no justification for whatsoever. Far exceeding a lawful & necessary response, as these won’t be orgs that had anything to do with the criminal attack on Charlie Kirk.

So our free speech is say only what the Donald says you can say or else???? He's such a vile disgusting thing and he's old and ugly. There's my free speech.

"House Bill Would Let Marco Rubio Strip Passports Over Political Speech"

"One section of the bill would authorize the secretary of state to revoke or refuse to issue passports to anyone 'convicted—or merely charged—of material support for terrorism.'... The more controversial section bypasses the courts entirely, empowering the secretary to deny passports to anyone they determine 'has knowingly aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise provided material support to an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.' Critics say this vague language collapses speech into terrorism and removes judicial oversight... Journalist Zaid Jilani underscored the difference between existing law and the proposed system: 'judges can already remove a passport over material support for terrorism, but the difference is you get due process. This bill would essentially make Marco Rubio judge, jury, and executioner.'"

So could we say it’s official- the first amendment can be followed only if it’s to their advantage, abandoned whenever dissent is voiced?
