Miles, your inside knowledge and expertise regarding the workings of government are invaluable. I always learn something from your pieces. But I’m really unsure how, we the people, can stop the outright illegality of the present regime. The elected officials who are supposed to be doing the people’s work are no where to be found and are a joke. The FBI and DOJ are in his hip pocket and are also a joke. SCOTUS has buried their collective head in the sand (except for three of them) and are worthless. That leaves the military which seems to be between a rock and a hard place regarding illegal orders from the man-baby. I know everyone says no one will eve us except us. I truly believe that. But I’m continually growing fearful we will not have mid term elections in 2026 and even if we do, nobody right or left will have any faith that they are legitimate and we devolve into anarchy. I attend rallies, write my congressmen, contribute to truth tellers on Substack such as you, Kinzinger, Walsh. I still feel helpless. But don’t stop speaking up. We need to hear from you. Thank you for being willing to sacrifice your safety to warn us about the dangers of this corrupt administration.
You may say, “Well my voice isn’t loud enough.” Make it loud enough. Get people to show up with you for the next No Kings protest in October. Strength in numbers is the start of any effective, non-violent resistance.
I lived the video you shot in your phone of the man-baby’s jaunt to the restaurant. What a shit show he is. My husband and I live in a very red state(Indiana) in a very red county but we’ve been to every rally/march within a 30 mile radius of our town. We have made signs and have contacted our elected officials, all three of them ( Republicans, of course). Only ever hear back from one, an emailed form letter with nice platitudes but not much substance. Anyway, some days it doesn’t seem like enough, but we will never stop protesting and speaking out wherever we can, regardless of the consequences.
